Wild Ones Root River Chapter May 2015 Meeting Announcement

| Uncategorized

Good morning, Wild Ones! I don?t know about you, but to me, Friday was about the most glorious day one could ask for. Hopefully after this coming week?s cold spell, we?ll be back to warmer temperatures. For our May meeting, we?ll start work on our outdoor projects and return to Colonial Park (on the Root River ? just like our chapter name!) to pull invasive weeds (mostly garlic mustard). Those of you who attended last year can attest to the beautiful day we had, the huge amount of weeds we pulled, and the spirit-lifting thanks we got from everyone who walked by. It felt great! So, let?s return this year and do even more.

When: Saturday, May 2 at 10:00 am
Where: Colonial Park in Racine (I’ll send the exact meeting location in a followup email)
What: Anti-Garlic Mustard Campaign

Bring bags to hold garlic mustard and other noxious weeds, and wear gloves and boots. You might also want to bring binoculars for bird-spotting, and last year there were some lovely spring wildflowers so you might want your camera, too. Afterwards we’ll grab lunch someplace close by, but there will be cookies to stave off hunger while we work.

Your plant sale committee is hard at work to make this the best plant sale ever — stay tuned for the volunteer signup sheet that’s coming soon! Plus, this year every volunteer gets a free T-shirt to wear at the sale! How great is that?!

Hope to see you there ? Stay Wild!
Chris
