The Wild Ones Root River Chapter’s annual virtual native plant sale is returning this year with an earlier plant pick up date. Wild Ones is a 501(c)(3) national organization that promotes environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities.
Our online native plant store rootrivernativeplantsale.org is now open and preorders will be taken online until Monday April 1, 2024.
Plant orders will need to be picked up on Saturday May 18, 2024 at Dane Hill Farm in Mt. Pleasant; instructions can be found on the website.
Thank you to our past supporters. Proceeds from our native plant sales have been used to help conserve land in Chiwaukee Prairie, fund pollinator projects such as the Pringle Nature Center’s sensory garden, Bristol Woods Nature Playground, the Butterfly Garden Native Plant Enhancement Project at Richard Bong State Recreation Area, and a native rain garden at Hawthorn Hollow’s Heritage Farmstead.
Local non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply for native plant pollinator grants, application forms can be found on our online store website.
Join us virtually on Monday February 5 at 6:30pm for our Gardening for Wildlife and Water Quality event with the Sierra Club and Root-Pike Win. We will discuss how adding native plants to your landscape can improve water quality and support local wildlife, attendees will have 2 chances to win a $50 native plant store gift card.
