Wild Ones Root River Chapter July/August Picnic Chiwaukee Prairie Walk

| Uncategorized

Good afternoon, Wild Ones!! I?ve been weeding and planting like crazy in this wonderful weather ? hopefully you have been, too! (although some of my weeding and planting was for my mom in Ohio, but I think it still counts) Our next meeting is right around the corner, and it?s a potluck to celebrate the success of the plant sale (which went very well), thank our volunteers (who are the reason it went very well), and just generally have a great time. Here?s the info:

When: Saturday, July 28th at 10:00 am

Where: Pam and Ingrid?s cottage: 204 102nd St, Pleasant Prairie WI  53158 (park on the south side of the street across from the cottage; don?t park on Lakeshore Drive, whatever you do)

What: Potluck and Prairie Walk

The Chiwaukee Prairie Preservation Foundation is generously providing the meats, the drinks, and the plates, utensils, condiments, etc. to say thank you for all the support we?ve given them over the years. All you need to bring is a side dish or dessert. Additionally, we?ll have a plant walk in Chiwaukee Prairie after people gather (probably starting around 10:30 or so), so bring suitable walking shoes, bug spray, and sunscreen. Our meeting is later in the summer than we?ve had it in the past, so different plants will be in bloom ? yay!

Treasurer Kris Hoth has prepared a financial report of the plant sale, so I?ll cover that with a few other announcements. All plants that were left over from the sale have been sold ? thanks for supporting our chapter to those who bought them, and thanks to member Tom La Duke for doing such a great job selling them!

If you?ve never attended before, it?s a great time and you should definitely join us. If you have, then you KNOW how much fun it is! In the meantime, have a great rest of July, and we?ll see you on the 28th!
